As BI Engineer you will work in the Platform & Technologies (P&T) Data Driven Services department, together with other data enthusiasts. We are here to ensure P&T uses high quality data and becomes a data driven ISP. You bring knowledge and experience on how to provide these insights both on technical and process level.
You know the world of data and analytics well and within a short period of time you are able to link this to the complex work field within ABN AMRO Innovation & Technologies - P&T. 

Your job

Your role focuses on transforming data to fit the requirements set by the stakeholders. Moreover, you contribute to building a future proof bank by creating insights on our infrastructure and IT performance. Through close collaboration and analysis, you retrieve the exact needs of P&T and you have the ability and drive to learn how to use the correct tool to present this to the owners of the platform. 

You and the rest in the Data Analytics & Insights team will create the basis of a data driven organisation that can rely on the data analytics capabilities of our team. You work closely with your colleagues, and you are driven to become a well-oiled DevOps capable member. Together with the team you will guarantee the technical alignment with stakeholders throughout P&T. By combining technology, knowledge and experience your contribution is essential for P&T to become a data driven organisation.

P&T is ABN AMRO’s Internal (IT) Service Provider and delivers state of the art IT with optimal technology, easy to consume services, and end to end control & oversight
To become a personal bank in a digital age all departments of P&T do their part to deliver a future proof foundation for the IT landscape.
P&T is a service-based organisation, providing IT to ABN AMRO employees and grids with reliable, in control, business-enabling, easily adaptable and future-proof IT which can be consumed via self-service mechanism and allow a shorter time to market for (new) functionalities.

The DA&I team within P&T forms and implements the strategy to ensure our activities are as data-driven as possible or to provide data-driven support. DA&I ensures a data-driven mindset and competence throughout P&T. DA&I’s core activities align with regulatory requirements and ABN AMRO’s strategy.

As a BI engineer you are part of the DA&I team of P&T. The team has about 14 team members and is responsible for all data and analytics related activities within P&T. We work closely with our engineering and offshore colleagues (about 25 in total). We are a new and dynamic team that is characterized by good cooperation. Fun in our work is paramount in which we work enthusiastically on all the varied data and analytics activities that strengthens the bank. 

Your profile

• You are driven and have experience with a set of the following topics:
• simplify complex problems and situations by providing easy to use insights
• how to work with complex data sets, tools and components within data architecture 
• transforming data using Databricks and PySpark
• work DevOps with Azure DevOps and GIT 
• improving data quality, reliability and efficiency within the PowerBI services
• working with Microsoft PowerBI and similar tools and experience with Tabular Editor is a pre
• to learn working in an Agile environment
• You are focused on collaboration, innovation and achieving goals
• You are fluent in English (Dutch is a bonus, not a must) 

We are offering

• The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
• The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
• Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
• Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
• Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
• An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
• An excellent pension scheme.
